JOACHIM KÜHN “CHALABA” TRIO
The German pianist Joachim Kühn is one of the most famous European jazz musicians of all times. A wanderer by character, he lived in East and West Germany, France, the US and Spain. His performances ranged from solo, small ensembles and large orchestras. He played free jazz, fusion, classical music, world music and applied music. He collaborated with various colleagues: Ornette Coleman, Jimmy Garrison, Don Cherry, Phil Woods, Jean-Luc Ponty, Gato Barbieri, Daniel Humair, Michael and Randy Brecker, Billy Cobham, Joe Henderson, Joe Lovano, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Rolf Kühn… The “Chalaba” trio presents a new exiting journey: a mix of jazz, rhythm and blues, flamenco and the music of Maghreb.
