Anat Fort Duo

Anat Fort Duo

For the pianist Anat Fort, music represents a “colorful mosaic of sounds”. She grew up in Israel where she studied classical piano, listened to western pop music and the folklore of the Middle East. Finally, she fell in love with jazz and moved to the US for her studies. She quickly became and active member of the New York alternative jazz scene. In her authorship we recognize a variety of genre influences. In 2007, she signed a contract with the ECM label under which she recorded two albums (a quartet and a trio), showing special respect for the work of the most famous name in ECM, Keith Jarrett. She is performing at the BJF in a duo with bass player Gary Wang.
